The man living at the property in Rectory Close passed his pet dogs across a wall to a neighbour and then made his escape before the roof of the bungalow collapsed. Over 30 firefighters from Baschurch, Ellesmere, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Tweedale stations attended the blaze at approximately 3.45pm on Sunday, December 28 but a spokeswoman for West Mercia Police said they are not treating the fire as suspicious.
