An independent assessment of plans to scrap doctor-led maternity at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd has been slated by politicians and campaigners. The Welsh Government ordered document - prepared by Professor Jean White, chief nursing officer for Wales, and Dr Chris Jones, deputy chief medical officer for Wales - dismisses claims from the Community Health Council that the plans to downgrade obstetrics and gynaecology services at the hospital are not urgent enough to go ahead without consultation.
