More than 80 cameras covering public areas in the towns as well as in Rhuddlan will no longer be monitored if Denbighshire Council's plans to save 200,000 from its budget during the 2016/17 financial year are approved. At present there are 59 cameras covering public areas in Rhyl, 18 in Prestatyn and four in Rhuddlan, all linked to a control room in Rhyl Police Station where they are monitored round-the-clock by council staff.
